Peer Mentoring

The Academic Success Center's Peer Mentoring program is just one of our programs funded by a Federal TRiO Student Support Services grant.  Peer Mentoring provides students with course related support combined with a personal, one-on-one mentoring relationship. Our Peer Mentors help to make students aware of the many resources (academic and social) that Kent State provides.

Tutorial assistance can be provided in the following subject areas:

  • Foreign Language Courses
  • Biology Courses
  • Chemistry Courses
  • Business & Economics Courses
  • Other Kent Core Courses

Benefits:

  • Improves grades by Increasing knowledge and understanding of subjects
  • Leads to better use of study time
  • Increases motivation to succeed
  • Teaches effective study/academic skills:
    • Time management
    • Note taking
