2013 Program

This year 50 students participated in the Young Business Scholars Summer Camp July 21 through July 27.  They came from all parts of Ohio as well as from Pennsylvania and Illinois, representing 44 high schools.  They competed in ten teams using Junior Achievement’s Titan Business Simulation. There were winners and runners up of the Business Simulation who walked away with prizes. Teams presented on the final day to a panel of judges.  On the final day of the camp, all ten teams presented about many aspects of their learning throughout the week including the strategy they used for the simulation, how they implemented their strategy, and how they applied the various business concepts they learned from KSU’s faculty to the their work on the simulation.  Each member of the winning team receives a $1000 scholarship valid if they choose to enroll in Kent State’s College of Business for their Freshman year.  There were also second and third place winners.

A special THANK YOU goes out to Ray’s Place owner, Charlie Thomas, who provided the Young Business Scholars with the t-shirts you see them wearing above!
