Ran Barniv Receives Distinguished Scholar Award

Congratulations to Ran Barniv on receiving the University’s 2011 Distinguished Scholar Award for Accounting Research. Nominated by colleges, the recipient of the Distinguished Scholar Award must be a full-time professor who has taught for at least five years.  Dr. Ran Barniv has a teaching career spanning 22 years, along with more than 50 articles published in the nation’s premier accounting journals. Dr. Barniv has earned national recognition for his research on the ramifications of regulation on capital markets and accounting standards. Passionately involved in research, Dr. Barniv feels it is important students are conscious of the global significance of high-quality research.

Beta Alpha Psi Garners Awards at Regional Meeting

Beta Alpha Psi students raced off to Indianapolis this weekend for the BAP Midwest Regional Meetings and Best Practice competition. The group was awarded first prize for its "Green Business Practices" presentation.

The curriculum of KSU’s accounting program is designed to provide the student with a solid foundation in accounting theory necessary for entry-level positions and career advancement after earning an accounting degree at KSU. It encompasses a common body of concepts, conventions, principles, and theories essential to the professional competency of the certified public accountant, controller, industrial accountant, institutional accountant, and governmental accountant. The student is enabled to continue effective professional development through the more specialized programs provided by employers or through the graduate studies accounting program.
