Young Business Scholars

The Young Business Scholars’ (YBS) Summer Program brought to you by Kent State University’s College of Business Administration is a 5 day business-focused camp for current high school sophomores and juniors.

About the Program:
Begun in 2011, the KSU College of Business Young Scholars program invites promising high school students for a week residency on the Kent campus during the summer.  Students have a college experience during which they stay in dorms,
attend a series of business lectures, participate in social activities, and engage in a competition to develop a new business.

Program Costs:
The only cost to participants is a $50 registration fee; all other expenses-food, lodging, social activities for the entire week-will
be fully funded by Kent. State University!

Program Dates:
Our summer program is scheduled to take place July 21-26, 2013.

Eligible High School  Students:
High School students (who will be juniors and seniors during the Fall 2013-14 academic year) will arrive on campus the evening of Sunday, July 21 at which time they will be met by program coordinators and student chaperones.  They will be oriented to the program, introduced to each other and to team members they will be working with throughout the entire week, receive advice on working in teams, and will be provided the rubric that will be used to judge their presentations.
