Welcome to the College of Technology
Interim Dean’s Message:
Welcome to the College of Technology at Kent State University where we are seeking to solve tomorrow’s problems today. To be a College of Technology in a technological age is an exciting responsibility and opportunity. Technology is one of the instruments by which you can maximize your potential.
First and foremost, we are committed to the preparation of students for employment opportunities where they use technological and management skills to secure a more sustainable future. Areas of focus within the college point toward careers in aviation, construction management, engineering technology and management, computer technology design, animation and gaming, and manufacturing and mechanical systems. Our graduates are scattered across the world as pilots, air traffic controllers, airport managers, owners of manufacturing enterprises, teachers, construction managers and leaders in business and industry. Our graduate program is focused at advancing the careers of those who are engaged in the world of work. A large portion of our graduate program is tailored to fit the career needs of the students.
Research and scholarship are intrinsic to preparing tomorrow’s leaders in technology and to the development of new knowledge to address our commitment to a sustainable future. Faculty research interests focus on aviation safety, clean energy via fuel cells, photovoltaics, uses of microwaves, and other alternative energy sources, and the use of irradiation to maintain a safe and healthy food supply.
We welcome your inquiries concerning the college and your place with us. Please visit, talk with our staff, students, and faculty, and make arrangements to attend one of our classes. We are interested in your future.
Sincerely,
John R. Graham, Ph.D.,
Interim Dean
