DudleyAnne     Anne Dudley is a marketing coordinator in both the School of Communication Studies and the School of Visual Communication Design. Dudley supports public relations and external communication efforts for the schools, assists with recruitment, event planning and web development. She is an alumna of Kent State and the School of Communication Studies, earning her B.A. in Communication Studies in 2010. She earned a Master of Arts in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Kent State in 2012, focusing her coursework in public relations and higher education administration. Margaret Garmon assists with media relations and special events coordination for the School of Communication Studies. She oversees the intern and practicum students assigned to the school as well as teaches a number of courses for the school. Margaret brings more than 30 years of experience to the classroom including careers as a newspaper reporter, media and public relations coordinator for Kent State University, media liaison for the Local Emergency Planning Committee of Portage County, administrative staff member for the Kent State Police Department, and as a member and officer of several civic and community organizations. A Kent State graduate, Margaret earned a bachelor’s degree in 1971 with a major in broadcasting and minor in journalism and a master’s degree in 2000 in journalism and mass communication organization. Octavia Jones

Octavia Jones is an administrative clerk and assistant to the Academic Advisor of the School of Communication Studies.  She assists undergraduate students with course registration issues, maintains all student records and files, processes paperwork and forms.  Octavia works with the undergraduate program coordinator and the advisors to assist with student recruitment and retention.  She creates reports, and ensures compliance with all academic policies and procedures involving the undergraduate program. Alice Kopunovitz
Alice Kopunovitz is an administrative assistant, working with the Director of the School.  She manages all personnel matters which include coordinating searches; hiring of part-time, term, and tenure-track faculty; and monitoring and assisting faculty and the director with reappointment, tenure, and promotion policies and procedures.  Alice also is the graduate program assistant, working with the graduate coordinator to run reports and manage the details from a student’s initial application inquiry, graduate assistantship hiring, and all forms and processes from coursework through graduation. MiaoLiu     Miao Liu is the international student advisor and liaison for the School. Liu will provides advising and counseling services to international students in Communication Studies and helps the College better understand and meet international students’ needs. Liu serves as a liaison to the College’s Chinese partner institutions, external international institutions, the Kent State China office and the Office of Global Education. Kelly Schobinger

Kelly Schobinger is a special assistant and computer coordinator. She maintains the undergraduate and graduate computer labs as well as the classroom and faculty/staff computers.
