About Community Relations
Community Relations Logo
Community Relations within the Center for Student Involvement works to promote positive city and university relations, otherwise known as "town-gown" relations. We promote our town-gown relations by keeping a close relationship with community members such as city officials, area business owners and staff, the Kent Area Chamber of Commerce (KACC), and also implementing neighborhood canvassing efforts.
Kent State University (KSU) has joined a number of member institutions from across the country in the International Town and Gown Association (ITGA). The ITGA provides a network of resources to assist civic leaders, university officials, faculty, neighborhood residents and students to build their city and university relations.
KSU places importance in belonging to this organization as it provides Community Relations staff the opportunity to learn and improve professionally. We learn innovative ideas, solutions, and new tactics to advance KSU and our community in all areas in which we are involved. You can learn more about ITGA by visiting http://www.itgau.org.
