About Continuing and Distance Education Workshops

Workshops are credit or noncredit activities that focus on professional tasks. They are characterized by cutting-edge topics, innovative formats and unconventional scheduling. They are also characterized by flexible schedules, including weekends, evenings and over university breaks. In addition to Kent State campuses, the Office of Continuing and Distance Education offers workshops on-site at businesses, schools, hospitals, libraries or other settings.

Participants who successfully complete credit-bearing workshops earn graduate-level university credits (usually one, two or three, depending on the workshop). Grading is on a satisfactory/unsatisfactory basis. Although noncredit workshops do not offer university credit, they may provide Continuing Education Units (CEUs) that are required in some professions.
