Gait Analysis
The Department of Biomechanics and Orthopedics involves the study of gait analysis, biomechanics, rehabilitation, podopediatrics, and sports medicine. Courses include the following:

  • Biomechanics, a comprehensive course focusing on gait and foot function, abnormalities of foot mechanics related to foot pathology, and the use of foot orthotic devices and computers in the assessment of biomechanical pathology
  • Rehabilitative Medicine, a study of various physical therapy modalities and principles of lower extremity rehabilitation
  • Podopediatrics, the emphasis of incidence, etiology, pathomechanics, evaluation, and treatment of lower extremity pathology in children
  • Sports Medicine, a comprehensive study of running biomechanics, shoe gear construction, pathomechanics, and treatment of lower extremity sports pathologies
