shaara Kent State University's 13th annual Symposium on Democracy will be held at the Kent campus on April 23–25, 2012. In recognition of the 150th anniversary of the nation's greatest conflict, its theme is “Democracy and the American Civil War.” Here's a look at the schedule. All sessions will be held in the Kiva.

Breakout sessions for teachers will be held following the panel discussions.
Shaara will participate in Tuesday's panel discussions. Books will be available for sale and signing by the author.
The event is free and open to the public. The symposium will also be broadcast live online via streaming video.
