Orientation
Before you leave and upon your arrival in Geneva, you'll participate in an orientation that is designed to help you make the most out of your study abroad experience. In orientation, your goals will be to...

Housing and the Webster Campus
At Webster, you’ll be welcomed into the on-campus community. Surrounded by students of diverse nationalities, cultures, and interests, you’ll gain new knowledge, experiences, friends … and have a great time too. You’ll also be just a few minutes away from the international city of Geneva and have easy access to the Alps and the rest of Europe.
The Les Berges du Rhône housing facility is located in the center of Geneva on the banks of the Rhone River and houses 118 students in double rooms. To view images of inside and outside of the building, click HERE. You will be responsible for purchasing your own food while abroad.
If participating in an internship, the bus and train station is a short walk from campus followed by a 20 minute ride to the various organizations.

Geneva Courses
All courses listed below are open to all Geneva Semester students who meet the individual course prerequisites.
Students are required to enroll in, and maintain enrollment in, a minimum of 12 semester credit hours. Registration for classes will take place prior to departure with the assistance of the Kent State University Office of Global Education. It is important to consult with your academic advisor regarding course selection. Please select at least five to six courses, because, as at any campus, a course may be canceled if registration falls below a required level.

Internship with an NGO
While your internships are voluntary and unpaid in nature, academic credit will be given for completing the internship program through enrolling in the Public Service - POL 40992, 3 credit hour course.
Currently teaching the internship class for Kent State University in Geneva as well a “European Politics” class at Webster University. For the past seven years she has been working for Kent State University, Geneva, as Assistant Director, Director and Academic Director and teaching the political science classes for the program. Before joining Kent State University, Geneva she has worked at several European and North American universities in the position of a researcher, assistant and visiting professor – among those at Harvard, York (Toronto), Frankfurt and Jena Universities and the European University Institute in Florence, Italy. She has published widely on geopolitics of energy and European security policy. Her most recent publication includes “Energy Supply Issues: Scale, Perception and the Return of Geopolitics“ in Hugh Dyer and Julia Trombetta. International Handbook of Energy Security (Edward Elgar publishers, forthcoming, together with Kirsten Westphal). She holds a Doctorate in Political Science from the European University Institute in Florence.
