OUR HISTORY
The Association of International Students in Education, Health and Human Services (AIS-EHHS) was established in 1996 by a group of students from the RussianFederation and the former SovietRepublics who were attending Kent State’s College and Graduate School of Education, Health and Human Services at that time.
Dr. Steve Michael, Kent State University’s former Vice-Provost, is considered to be a founder of the Association. He was also theorganization’s adviser from 1996-1998.
The Gerald H. Read Center for International and Intercultural Education played a vital part in the development of the Association and continues to be a significant contributor to the growth of the Association. The Center hosts AISE in its office and helps organize the Association’s activities.
