Environmental Health and Safety oversees the Asbestos Management Program, and is responsible for the safe and proper control of friable asbestos containing materials in Kent State University buildings. Asbestos containing materials are normally found in sprayed on fireproofing, floor tiles, pipe insulations, roofing materials and other insulating products.  The Occupational Health and Safety office assists in the maintenance and abatement of these materials during repair or renovation activities.
