There are three options to becoming a Moulton Scholar, each of which entails: a project plan, an application, and participating in Moulton Scholars activities. It is possible to combine options

Option 1: a project plan that can be completed as part of a normal workload with the use of resources in Moulton Hall and project related venues.

Option 2: a project plan with a specific time allocated for completion in residence at Moulton. Professional leaves offer such an opportunity, as do departmental reallocation in load. Departmental projects involving teams working in Moulton Hall are encouraged.

Option 3: Apply for a scholarship of up to $2,000 toward a two credit hour load reallocation for the term of the scholarship which, when matched with departmental sources of one credit hour, enables the faculty member to have the equivalent of a three credit hour course time reallocation for the special project. Team projects can also be arranged using this option, with support up to $2,000 with $1,000 dept. match.

Small fpdc grants (up to $500) (visit Grants and Funding Opportunities for application) are available for technology aids such as software or small equipment. Grants from the University Research Council and the University Teaching Council may also be available depending on the project. Up to $500 for professional development and teaching aids are available for those applying via Options 1 & 2.

Who: The program is open to KSU faculty and graduate assistants who teach at least six credit hours per term and are willing to abide by the terms and conditions of the program.

Selection: A selection committee comprised of former Moulton Scholars and fpdc council members make recommendations to the fpdc director who makes final decisions on selection.

Submission: Applications received by April 15^th will be considered first for the following spring semester, and those submitted by October 1st for the following fall semester. Proposals can be submitted for review at other times, but funding and space are more likely to be available with the April and October calls. IMPORTANT: Prospective scholars are encouraged to meet with fpdc staff prior to applying to discuss their projects and application to ensure that resources needed for the project can be made available.
