The Kent State graduate community warmly welcomes you.  To help make your transition to graduate student life at KSU successful, the Division of Graduate Studies hosts an orientation program designed to supplement department or program-level orientations.

Kent State University's Graduate Student Orientation (GSO) is held prior to the start of fall and spring semesters and all new graduate students are encouraged to attend.  The Fall 2012 GSO is August 21st (general program) and August 22nd (program for teaching assistants).  If you are a new, incoming teaching assistant, it is mandatory to attend both days of GSO.  Since Day 2 of GSO (8/22) will be specifically tailored to meet the needs of graduate assistants who will be teaching, both incoming teaching assistants and returning graduate assistants with new teaching assistantships will find it particularly useful.

GSO provides an opportunity to meet and network with other new graduate students, along with representatives of KSU's faculty, staff, and administration to learn about university and community resources.  If you have any specific questions regarding GSO, please contact Dr. Kate McAnulty at kmcanult@kent.edu or 330.672.2180.

We look forward to meeting you soon!
