Program Review Schedule

Schedule for Academic Program Reviews

Kent State University is mandated by the Ohio Board of Regents to review its graduate programs "every five to ten years according to a published timetable."  The University elected to stagger program reviews on a seven-year cycle, so that approximately eight reviews are conducted each academic year.

In rare cases where there is a justifiable need to defer, accelerate, or otherwise reschedule a program review, the department chair/school director will make a written request to the academic college dean that sets out the justification for deferment or acceleration. The dean will forward the request in writing, together with his or her independent opinion and recommendation, to the Dean of Graduate Studies. The Dean of Graduate Studies will consider such requests on their merits, take into account the institutional need to maintain the regularity and timeliness of the review process, and will make the final determination regarding whether and how the review will be scheduled.
