The Kent State University Honors College offers students an individualized educational experience.
The Kent State University Honors College offers students an individualized educational experience. Open to students from all majors, the Honors College is one of the oldest and largest in the nation with a diverse student population. Most students enter the program as freshmen; however, you may apply to join after one semester of college coursework with a 3.5 or higher college GPA. Admission to the Honors College is selective.
Students are provided one-on-one academic advising, access to smaller class sizes in Honors courses, early registration privileges, encouragement and financial support for study away experiences, the opportunity to live in an intellectually stimulating living-learning community, and undergraduate research and creative opportunities.
As a member of the Honors College you will encounter:
- an atmosphere where curiosity, fun, and friendships are fostered,
- stimulating and innovative teachers,
- explorations of the power of the human mind, and some unconventional thinking,
- challenging courses and rewarding experiences.
