Community Service
The Honors College encourages its students to engage with their communities through meaningful volunteer service. To recognize this activity, Honors students are permitted to count one supervised community service experience as an Honors experience. This requirement is flexible in that it allows students to define the form of service they plan to meet this requirement. The community service contract outlines the requirements for the Community Service Option.

Find current opportunities for community service projects in the Kent and Northeast Ohio areas. The community service opportunities listed below are provided by the Office of Community Service, Learning, and Volunteerism (204 Moulton Hall) at Kent State University.

Super Service Saturdays
Looking for something to do on the weekends?
Super Service Saturdays is now an approved Honors community service option. Complete the community service option contract in the Forms Library and keep track of your service hours with the Super Service Saturdays log. Transportation is provided! Most trips leave at approximately 8:30/9 a.m. and return no later than 1 p.m. Look for fall dates next semester.
Honors students may receive one Honors experience for volunteering at six of the Super Service Saturdays sites. Please visit the Community Service website for registration information or contact Ann Gosky.
