In will take place for new students to the halls on Thursday, August 21st between the hours of 8am and 7pm. Students arriving during this time will check in directly at his or her residence hall. Returning KSU students to the residence halls will check in on Saturday, August 23rd and Sunday, August 24th. Please visit the Move In page to learn specifics about when and where to check in, as well as information on what to be sure to bring with you upon arrival.
Students who need an earlier move-in date may now sign up for early arrival. Early arrival information and registration can be found by visit our Early Arrival Application.
All alumni, staff, and KIC/NRHH leaders are invited to come back home for a Residence Services reunion this fall on Saturday, October 18, 2014 (KSU Homecoming). Please help spread the word to ensure a great turnout by contacting former staff members and KIC/NRHH leaders to encourage attendance. Invitations are anticipates to be mailed and registration information available late summer.
The fall 2014/spring 2015 Incoming Student Housing Application will be available beginning February 1st at 8:00am. Please visit https://housing.res.kent.edu/ to apply.
As of Fall 2014, all active Kent State University students will receive the full Microsoft Office Suite – for free! Information Services is dedicated to ensuring that students are equipped with the tools they need to succeed – both in their academic and professional life. With that in mind, IS has partnered with Microsoft to provide Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Excel for multiple devices!
From May 29-June 2nd, fifteen student leaders attended the National Association of College and University Residence Halls (NACURH) annual conference at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. At this conference, Kent State University’s Black Squirrel Chapter of the National Residence Hall Honorary and Kent Interhall Council received several awards throughout the weekend.
The College of Communication and Information (CCI) Commons in Olson Hall hosted their end of the year banquet to celebrate a great year. Residents had a fabulous time enjoying the catered buffet and reminiscing on their memories made in Olson Hall over the past year. Marianne Warzinski, the CCI Commons Director in Olson Hall, awarded her CCI Commons staff, Sophomore Senseis and also gave students Superlative Awards. To top things off, Olson Hall Council has been awarded the Hall of the Year by the Kent Interhall Council.
On Tuesday, April 29th, 2014, Kent Interhall Council recognized student leaders at the Golden Flash Awards. The recipients of the awards are as follows:
On Sunday, April 13, 2014, the Black Squirrel Chapter of the National Residence Hall Honorary inducted 21 new members.
On Wednesday, April 9th, the Undergraduate Student Government and the Center for Student Involvement held the 36th Annual Student Leadership and Honors Awards Ceremony. Many Residence Services student leaders were recognized for their accomplishments at this event.
