Welcome to Residence Services
Your college campus is the heart of your education. It’s where you come together with your peers, professors, mentors, and friends. It’s where community is formed. Whether you’re a future student, parent, or student leader, we have the housing and residential information you need to make yourself at home. Explore our resources, and find out how to apply for on-campus housing.
Beginning Monday, September 8th at 1:00pm, the room freeze period will be lifted for the fall semester for students interested in changing rooms. Additionally, if not every bed is assigned in your room, you have the option of contracting for a "buyout", securing the room for yourself only by paying an additional prorated cost. A room buyout is the creation of revised room occupancy (based on availability) and is in effect for the remainder of the fall and future spring semester only. For more information about either process, or to initiate either a room change or room buyout, please speak with your Residence Hall Director.
All alumni, staff, and KIC/NRHH leaders are invited to come back home for a Residence Services reunion this fall on Saturday, October 18, 2014 (KSU Homecoming). Please help spread the word to ensure a great turnout by contacting former staff members and KIC/NRHH leaders to encourage attendance. Invitations are anticipates to be mailed and registration information available late summer.
The fall 2014/spring 2015 Incoming Student Housing Application will be available beginning February 1st at 8:00am. Please visit https://housing.res.kent.edu/ to apply.
During Welcome Weekend, the EXCEL (Explore, Careers, Education, Leadership) Living Learning Community located in Lake Hall had its first event of the semester. EXCEL students enjoyed soda floats while meeting and interacting with their EXCEL mentors, upperclassmen who are peer mentors to the Exploratory first year students. They were given the chance to get to know one another and also to meet the EXCEL staff and learn about the community they will be a part of for the next academic year. The meet and greet kicked off the year on an excellent note!
