Remote Access Using the KSU Cisco VPN (Virtual Private Networks)
To help prevent unauthorized access of sensitive employee and student data, connections to several University administrative systems (see list below) are only permitted from on-campus (by default). However, any employee with a business need may request authorization for off-campus or remote access.
The following services require authorization and the KSU Cisco VPN for off-campus access:
- Internet Native Banner
- Cognos Reporting
- WebFTP (ICSS)
- Document Imaging
Kronos may be accessed through the KSU Cisco VPN by non-classified supervisors; to request this access, please request approval from the Payroll Office and forward the approval to AccessManagementGroup_DCO@kent.edu.
Note: Only an approved computer (such as a university-owned laptop) may be used to access these administrative systems from off-campus.
Instructions for requesting authorization:
The employee and his or her departmental security administrator must complete a Request for Remote Access to Administrative Systems form and submit it via:
Fax: (330) 672-3253
Access Management Group
Stewart Hall 246
Once access has been granted, an e-mail notification will be sent to the departmental security administrator and employee.
KSU Cisco VPN:
Having been granted authorization, off-campus access is available through use of the KSU Cisco VPN (Virtual Private Network).
