Kent State STEMM Scholars Recognized at Ohio Board of Regents Showcase Event Kent State University students and graduates were among the more than 500 Choose Ohio First scholarship recipients that were recognized for their achievements at the STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medicine) Scholars Showcase hosted by the Ohio Board of Regents on Jan. 23 in Columbus, Ohio.

NSF Awards Kent State $1.08 Million Grant to Address Shortage of STEM Educators The National Science Foundation (NSF) has awarded Kent State University a $1.08 million grant to support the university’s Noyce Scholars Program, designed to increase the number of highly qualified middle and high school teachers in biology, chemistry, earth and space science, mathematics and physics.

Kent State Professor Helps Solve Rubik’s Cube Problem A long-standing problem behind one of the world’s most popular and addicting puzzles has been solved. A team of researchers, including Dr. Morley Davidson, an associate professor of mathematical sciences at Kent State University, has unveiled new research that finds that every position of the Rubik's Cube™ can be solved in 20 moves or less.

KSU at Salem Students Finalists for Mathematical Award Kent State University at Salem Sophomores Jennifer A. Huzyak and Timothy M. Montgomery were recently selected as finalists for the Kathleen Wolf Award. The annual award is given out by Kent State University’s Department of Mathematical Science.
