Kent State University fans are invited to come together in downtown Kent on Wednesday, Dec. 19, to celebrate the historic football season and send off the team to Mobile, Ala., for the GoDaddy.com Bowl. Fans can pick up a free commemorative postseason poster and collect autographs from Kent State head football coach Darrell Hazell and members of the team.

Kent State University held its fall commencement ceremonies at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15, at the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center (MAC Center). Kent State conferred 1,963 degrees, including 1,531 bachelor’s degrees, 370 master’s degrees, 59 doctoral degrees and 3 educational specialist degrees.

Kent State University theatre alumni came back to campus to give aspiring School of Theatre and Dance students advice about building a successful career and surviving life in New York City.
Kent State battled Northern Illinois into two overtimes but saw its hopes of claiming the school's first Mid-American Conference football title in 40 years and an improbable BCS bowl berth fall just short at Detroit's Ford Field.

The Campus Kitchen Project is a national organization that provides healthy meals to those in need. All of the meals are prepared and served by student volunteers. At this year’s 2012 Campus Kitchen Project conference, the Campus Kitchen at Kent State University won the Excellence in Programming Award for its outreach and programming efforts at the Haymaker Farmer’s Market.
After double over-time Kent State University’s school-record of 10 consecutive football victories came to an end on Friday, Nov. 30, with a 44-37 loss to Northern Illinois University (12-1) in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) championship game at Ford Field in Detroit. The Kent State Golden Flashes (11-2) reached the title game by going 8-0 in conference games and winning the MAC East title.
In the fall of 2010, a team of people from five different Kent State University colleges sat down to design the digital sciences degree program. Launching a program in one year is uncommon, but when approvals for the proposed programs happened in the spring of 2011, Kent State’s School of Digital Sciences set a new bar.

The Kent State Golden Flashes finished the regular season on a roll, winning their 10th straight game with a 28-6 victory over Ohio University Friday at Dix Stadium. With a best-ever 11-1 record (8-0 in conference play), Kent State moves on to play Northern Illinois in the Mid-American Conference Championship game Nov. 30 at Ford Field in Detroit, MI.
