SELF-CARE Care for the Caregiver
Kent State University College of Nursing has collaborated with Urban Zen Integrative Therapy Program to teach future
caregivers the skills of yoga therapy, Reiki, contemplative practices and essential oil therapy to care for themselves
so they can care for others. With the help of Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, students from Kent's Accelerated
BSN program benefitted from these therapies. In 2012, KSU College of Nursing and the UZIT Program look forward to
continuing to teach nurses self-care and expanding research to multiple education sites throughout Ohio.
