Faculty and Staff Parking Permits

The vehicles of all employees and students of the university must display valid parking permits obtained through Parking Services while parked on campus. Choose one of the highlighted application options listed below to apply for your permit.

Current Faculty and Staff Permit Application

Full or part-time employees who need to change parking areas or want to purchase a permit using a payment method other than payroll deduction can complete and print this permit application and mail it or bring it to the Parking Services office in room 123 Schwartz Center. If you want to use payroll deduction, complete and print this application and bring it to the Parking Services office. You may be required to pay a portion of the current month if the payroll deadline has passed. Make checks payable to Kent State University. We accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover.

New Hire Online Application

New full or part-time employees can complete and submit this online permit application. A Parking Services employee will contact you for payment information if you are not eligible for payroll deduction. Full payment will be required for semester permits. You may also complete and print this permit application and mail it or bring it to the Parking Services office in room 123 Schwartz Center. Make checks payable to Kent State University. We accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover.

Faculty and Staff Permit Options

• Primary Lot “Red R” Parking Permit - $150/year, $56.25/semester
  Red parking permits signify faculty and staff parking permits. This permit is issued to most Kent State University employees for designated parking in the faculty and staff “R” lots. This permit entitles you to park at anytime in the R-lot on your permit.
  
• Red R-Evening Permit - $56.25/year, $28.25/semester
  This permit allows parking after 4 p.m. in your assigned “R” lot, and also offers day-time parking in the Allerton Sports Complex and the Summit East lots. During summer, and during the winter and spring breaks, you may park at anytime in the “R” lot designated on your permit.
  
• Morning and Weekend Permit - $56.25/year, $28.25/semester
  This permit allows you to park from 6 a.m. – 10 a.m. Monday – Friday, and from 4 p.m. Friday to 11 p.m. Sunday in any non-restricted section of the “R” lots, in the “C” lots or in the Student Recreation & Wellness Center lot.
  
• 3rd Shift Parking Permit – No Charge
  This permit is used by those employees who work from 10 p.m. – 8 a.m. This permit entitles you to park in any “R” parking area EXCEPT those marked “AT ALL TIMES”. If your shift begins before 10 p.m. or ends after 8 a.m., you must purchase the appropriate permit to cover the time that you are parked on campus.
  
• FREE Allerton Sports Complex NC Permit – No Charge
  During fall and spring semesters, (1st day of classes through finals week) this permit entitles you to park only in the Allerton Sports Complex lot. This permit is not valid in any other campus parking lot at any time during this time period. During summer, and during the winter and spring breaks, you may park in any “C” lot. If you opt to exchange your Allerton Sports Complex NC permit at any time during the year, you will be charged for the summer months (3) that you parked for free.
  
• Motorcycle permit - $10/year
  This permit when affixed to the rear tail light, allows parking in any designated motorcycle parking space on campus.
