Construction Permit Regulations

Kent State University parking permits are required for all personnel working on University projects.  They can be obtained from the Parking Services Office at 123 Schwartz Center (at the corner of Summit St. and Morris Rd.).

  • Contractors are required to obtain permits for all personal and company vehicles that will be accessing the construction sites and transporting manpower to and from the campus.  Large specialty construction vehicles such as cranes, bulldozers, and delivery vehicles that are only dropping off/picking up materials do not have to obtain a parking permit.

  • Parking Services will assign designated contractor parking areas based on the time of year, project size, and location.  These locations may not be adjacent to the construction site or within walking distance.

  • The Office of the University Architect does not have access or authority to distribute, create, or change parking assignments.

  • The contractor shall be fully responsible for any parking violation assessed by Parking Services.  All fines must be paid in full prior to renewing or purchasing new permits.

  • Parking in meter parking, special parking areas, fire lanes, service areas, sidewalks, and on lawns is strictly prohibited.

Rates:

  • Each permit valid one week (7 calendar days): $7.00 per week

  • Each permit valid for one month (calendar month): $12.50 per month

  • Dix Stadium: No Charge.  A permit application is required.  Permits will be issued for the Stadium.
