General Information
Accessibility Seating
ADA seating is available on an as needed basis. Please note that while we have all of the required accessible seating locations under applicable law, accessible seating is nonetheless limited, and a request for accessible seating does not guarantee availability. When placing your order, please inform your ticket representative that you require accessible seating accommodations.
We reserve the right to address fraudulent purchases or requests for accessible seats to the extent provided by law including, with respect to single event ticket purchases, asking the purchaser if they, or someone for whom they are purchasing, has a mobility disability that requires the use of a wheelchair space. ADA ticket fraud includes, but is not limited to, the misrepresentation of a disability. Management reserves the right to take appropriate action regarding misrepresentation which may result in relocation or revocation of tickets, ejection or forfeiture of payment on your seats.
Designated Seating
Accessible seating is located in sections A and B, Row A and in sections S and T, Row M. A ticket for these areas must be purchased in advance. Limited space is available.
Companion Seating
Each wheelchair accessible seat includes the option to purchase one (1) companion seat immediately adjacent to the wheelchair location and, subject to availability at the time of purchase. Guests in need of additional companion seats should advise their ticket representatives at time of purchase, and every effort will be made to locate them as close to the wheelchair space and one (1) required companion seat.
Guests who require wheelchair seating must provide their own wheelchair. Please instruct your guests to arrive one hour prior to the start of the event. Please see an usher for direction to seat.
Address
The physical address for the Memorial Athletic and Convocation (MAC) Center is 1025 Risman Drive, Kent, OH 44242.
ATM
An ATM is located in the Kent Student Center, located next to the MAC Center.
Baby Changing/Nursing Mothers
Baby changing stations are located in the Lobby C restrooms.
Cameras
Cameras and video cameras are not permitted.
Cancellation
If the event is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances, we will inform you of the cancellation via email and refund the amount you paid for your tickets, on the same payment method used for purchase.
Concessions
Concessions will not be open during this event. However, there are vending machines located just off the main lobby area. Also, there is a food court in the student center located in the adjacent building.
Directions
Directions are available online.
Doors Open
The doors will open approximately 60 minutes prior to the event.
Elevators
An elevator is located in the main lobby. It services the second floor and the Blue and Gold Loge.
Emergencies and Evacuation Procedures
In the event of a serious emergency, all event staff, ushers and law enforcement are available to assist guests, including those with disabilities. Information could also be provided over the public address system.
First-Aid
If you are in need of medical attention please notify any Law Enforcement Officer, Usher or Event Staff immediately.
Group Sales
Group sales are no longer available. If you purchased group tickets and need additional information, please contact the University Ceremonies office during normal business hours at 330-672-2235. Buses will be able to drop guests off in front of the MAC Center. Parking services will then direct them on where to park during the event.
Holocaust Survivors
It is our privilege to honor the survivors in our area. We invite you to be our honored guest at the event. Please let us know if you plan to attend by contacting Chaya Kessler, the Director of the Jewish Studies Program at 330-672-8926 or ckessle7@kent.edu before April 1, 2013. We will be happy to provide two tickets for you and a guest for the preferred seating section and a complimentary parking pass.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found is located in ticket office located in the main lobby.
Lost Persons
Any report of a lost person will be acted on immediately by event personnel to locate and return the person to his or her parent(s), guardian(s) or companion(s). Guests should contact any Usher or Event Staff for prompt initiation of lost person search procedures. If a parent, guardian or companion is not located, the lost person will be taken to the main lobby near the base of the elevator for further efforts in locating the parent(s), guardian(s) or companion(s).
Medical Emergency
If assistance is needed, please contact the nearest Usher or Event Staff personnel.
Parking
There are a number of parking options. The visitor’s lot in front of the MAC Center has limited space and is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Parking is $3.00 for the evening. Free parking and shuttle service is available in the Schwartz Center parking lot across Summit Street.
Parking traffic may be heavy. We encourage you to plan ahead and allow extra time.

Pets/Service Animals
Animals, except for trained K-9 dogs or service animals assisting disabled visitors, are not permitted.
Program
The program will begin at 7 p.m. and last approximately 60 minutes.
Prohibited Items
The following items are not permitted:
- Animals – other than those used as a service animal
- Baby Strollers
- Bags (larger than 14" x 14") or sealed packages of any kind
- Cameras, video recorders, audio recorders, or other similar electronic devices
- Laser pointers, whistles or noisemakers
- Signs, banner or posters
- Smoking only allowed outside
- Weapons of any kind
Public Announcements
Special announcements on the public address system are limited to medical and police emergencies.

Re-Entry
Guests will NOT be permitted to re-enter once they leave.
Refunds and Exchanges
All ticket purchases are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged.
Restrooms
Men's and Women's restrooms are located in lobbies A, B and C.
Smoking Policy
Smoking is prohibited inside in the MAC Center. Smoking is also defined to include any and all electronic cigarettes or e-cigarettes.
Solicitation/Literature
Setting up a promotional space and/or distributing banners, booklets, business cards, circulars, commercial advertising, flyers, folders, handbills, leaflets, notices, pamphlets, posters, stickers, or any other written, printed and/or painted materials in or around the MACC and campus without the permission of Kent State University is prohibited.
Ticket Policy
A valid ticket for the event is required for admittance. You must print your tickets prior to arriving at the event. Tickets will not be printed at the door. All guests must have a ticket to enter the MAC Center. Each ticket is unique and cannot be scanned twice.
Children two years or older must have a ticket for admittance unless otherwise stated. Children under two must sit on a parent’s lap. Guests will NOT be permitted to re-enter once they leave.
Tickets for this event are sold out. All sales are final. There are no refunds or exchanges.
Ushers
Guests should contact the nearest usher for assistance in seating locations, medical emergencies, or for anything else that might make the visit more enjoyable.
Vending Machines
Vending machines are located near the main lobby.
Water Fountains
Water fountains are located in every corner of the facility.
Weather
If weather conditions make it unsafe for the lecture to begin at the scheduled start time, management reserves the right to hold or cancel the event if necessary.
