EPC Members

The Educational Policies Council (EPC) is co-chaired by the  senior vice president for academic affairs and provost and the chair of the Faculty Senate . The EPC comprises two councils, an Undergraduate EPC and a Graduate EPC.

EPC Membership for 2012–2013

"Ex officio" members who have voting privileges on the Undergraduate EPC are the following:

  • Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost or designee (co-chair)
  • Faculty Senate Chair or designee  (co-chair)
  • Dean or designee from each academic college
  • Dean of the Honors College
  • Dean of Undergraduate Studies
  • Dean of University Libraries or designee
  • Director or designee from each independent school

"Ex officio" members who have voting privileges on the Graduate EPC are the following:

  • Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs or designee (co-chair)
  • Faculty Senate Chair or designee (co-chair)
  • Dean of Graduate Studies
  • Dean of University Libraries or designee
  • Associate dean for graduate affairs or designee from each academic college and independent school

Five Faculty Senate members are appointed by the Faculty Senate chair-elect to the Undergraduate EPC, and five senators with full graduate faculty status are appointed by the chair-elect to the Graduate EPC.

Additional regular faculty may be appointed by the Faculty Senate chair-elect to the EPC with due regard for representation by curricular units of the university as needed so that the faculty membership equals the "ex officio" membership.

One member of each college curriculum body is elected by the respective college to the Undergraduate EPC. One member of each college graduate coordinating body with full graduate faculty status is elected by the respective college to the Graduate EPC.

One undergraduate student appointed by the Undergraduate Student Government and one graduate student appointed by the Graduate Student Senate serve as observers on the respected council with rights of participation, but without a vote.

One faculty member elected by the faculty of the College of Podiatric Medicine serves as an observer on the Graduate EPC with rights of participation, but without a vote.
