Coeus is Kent State’s electronic system for proposal submission, research compliance and grants management. Created by MIT, it is designed to simplify and streamline award acquisition and administration for the university and provide a central repository of proposal, award and other information.
Kent State is implementing Coeus’s numerous modules in phases. The proposal and awards modules are currently in use and the compliance modules are expected for future implementation.
If you require assistance with Coeus please contact our help team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
CoeusLite is available from any device with an Internet connection. You may launch Coeus directly from the Research Channel in FlashLine’s “My Action” tab or log in with your FlashLine user name and password at https://coeus.kent.edu.
All proposals submitted for sponsored projects are processed in Coeus. The proposal module allows for direct system-to-system (S2S) processing of select proposal applications to Grants.gov, advantageous for faster submission processing of federal applications and fewer errors in transmission.
Coeus allows for collaboration among Investigators, the Office of Sponsored Programs staff, the university’s Corporate and Foundation Relations staff and departmental administrators who can share access to the proposal data, budget and submission materials.
Proposal processing in Coeus includes electronic routing to administrators of the units involved in each application for approval, replacing paper transmittals and improving efficiency.
