Research Facilities
Kent State University houses cutting-edge facilities including the Liquid Crystal Institute, 3D Immersive Development Classroom, Aquatic Ecology Research Facility and many behavioral science laboratories.
The world-renowned Liquid Crystal Institute, a leader in liquid crystal technology and education, is home to a liquid crystal display facility with a prototyping line, the Lucent Technologies LCD Pilot Line and the W.M. Keck Clean Room (2,500 sq. ft.) space used for thin film deposition. The facility has the capability to produce page size passive LCDs with full scale production equipment.
Centennial Research Park provides space and support for specialized companies to thrive and grow near the university and its other partners. The facility provides graduate and undergraduate students with research opportunities, internships, employment and collaborative opportunities with faculty researchers from the Liquid Crystal Institute and other disciplines.
