NSF Required Training Program
EFFECTIVE JANUARY 4, 2010: REQUIRED TRAINING FOR NATIONAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION-SUPPORTED UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS, GRADUATE STUDENTS, AND POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWS IN THE RESPONSIBLE CONDUCT OF RESEARCH
Sponsored Programs is implementing an online National Science Foundation-required training program in the Responsible Conduct of Research. The training program modules will be accessed through the Sponsored Programs Website. Completion of the training is required for all undergraduate students, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows who are supported on NSF-funded projects submitted for program deadlines January 4, 2010 and after.
Please note that this Responsible Conduct of Research training is mandated by NSF ruling. Effective January 4, Sponsored Programs certifies on every proposal submission to NSF that the training program is in place and available to students and postdoctoral fellows.
To comply with the NSF award conditions, Sponsored Programs will halt use of NSF grant funds for any positions on which training is required if, after six months, Sponsored Programs has not received proof that NSF-supported students and/or postdoctoral fellows have not completed the required Responsible Conduct for Research training.
