Part-Time Teaching Positions in SLIS

Kent State University School of Library and Information Science continually seeks qualified instructors for part-time, temporary positions.

Typical areas in which part-time instructors are often needed include core M.L.I.S. courses, resources and services in a specialized domain area, archives and special collections, or other specialized areas which may benefit from professional practical experience. Selection is based on the applicant's qualifications for teaching a particular course. Most teaching will be done online, although some assignments are made for teaching on the Kent Campus or at the school's location in the State Library of Ohio in Columbus.

The school keeps applications for part-time teaching on file for one year.

Adjunct faculty members who teach at least one course a semester receive a tuition fee waiver for up to a maximum of four credit hours to be taken during or immediately following the semester in which the part-time faculty member is employed.

To apply, please submit a letter of application indicating the course(s) you are eligible to teach, curriculum vitae or resume with at least three references related to teaching experience, and a sample syllabus to Athena Salaba, Ph.D., at asalaba@kent.edu.
