The graduate program in Information Architecture and Knowledge Management (IAKM) at Kent State University is dynamic and continually responds to changes in the marketplace for information professionals and their evolving skill sets.

IAKM offers a 42-credit-hour Master of Science degree program and 18-hour certificate programs in with three concentrations: health informatics, knowledge management and user experience design.

M.L.I.S. students may take up to 12 credit hours in Information Architecture and Knowledge Management (IAKM) as electives toward their degree. Students who are looking for electives to round out their M.L.I.S. education, and especially those interested in special librarianship, should consider taking an IAKM course or two. Contrary to popular belief, one does not have to be a "computer person" to take IAKM courses. And there is a very strong connection between the M.L.I.S. program (with regard to organization of and access to information, among other things) and how that can be applied in an IAKM course. In fact, most of IAKM faculty have library and/or information science degrees as well.
