eDegree Students Starting Fall 2012 or Later

eDegree students starting fall 2012 or later may choose from many different areas of specialization. A list of these specializations, which are available to all M.L.I.S. students (Kent, Columbus and eDegree), can be found on our website at http://www.kent.edu/slis/programs/mlis/index.cfm

While a vast majority of SLIS courses are now offered online, not all courses are currently available online for some areas of specializations. To verify if a specific area of specialization or specific courses can be completed entirely online, please consult with your academic advisor. Students who have not yet been admitted to the M.L.I.S. program should consult with our Academic Program Coordinator, Rhonda Filipan, at rfilipan@kent.edu or 330-672-0013.

Even though seats in online courses are not guaranteed for eDegree students starting fall 2012 or later, the School of Library and Information Science works very hard to accommodate students' enrollment in the courses they choose. However, it is not always possible to meet the level of demand for a particular course. When a class is filled, students will be asked to add themselves to the Waitlist for that course. The Waitlist will be monitored and used as a tool to determine if another section can be opened or if the maximum enrollment can be increased. It is strongly recommended that all M.L.I.S. students enroll in their courses as early as possible each semester.
