Sister Circle

Sister's Circle

Motto

I am a Woman of Excellence, and so is my Sister!

Mission Statement

To establish a strong support network comprised of Kent State University women of color who will nurture, advocate and enrich the educational and leadership development of our female students of color, through meaningful relationships and programs to develop high achieving and empowered women of excellence.

Vision

Sister Circle is intended to provide strategies of holistic development for female students, in particular those of the AALANA population.  Holistic development includes a focus on academic pursuits along with mental, physical, emotional and spiritual awareness encompassing complete self-development toward individual student success.

We strive to encourage females in developing self-confidence and making positive life-long and collegiate decisions to maximize their personal, academic and professional aptitude.

Goals

To increase positive healthy relationships amongst women of color students.

To facilitate culturally relevant discussion groups amongst Sister Circle members and members of the campus and local community.

To increase collegiate awareness via collaborations with professional partnerships and community engagement.
