Can I afford to study abroad?
YES. For all Kent State University programs and exchange partner programs, your financial aid and grants can almost always be used for study abroad. Check with Student Financial Aid for specific answers to your questions. -
How much does it cost?
Program costs vary. Please contact a program manager for detailed financial information for the program that you are interested in. -
Will study abroad interrupt my program of study?
NO. Both semester-long and year-long programs are possible for transferable credits. -
How do I make sure my credits will transfer back to Kent State?
Part of the application process includes working with an academic advisor to choose classes before you go abroad. -
Do I have to be in a particular major to study abroad?
NO. While some programs are better suited to certain majors, students from all majors study abroad. -
Do I have to speak a foreign language to study abroad?
NO. While there are language-immersion programs available for foreign language majors, we have many programs in English-speaking countries. -
Do I have to have a minimum G.P.A.?
Program requirements vary; most require a minimum G.P.A.of 2.5, but some may require a 3.0. -
Where will I live while I am abroad?
Accommodations vary greatly depending on the program; choices include: program facilities, university dorms and home stays with host families. -
How long will my program of study be?
Depending on the program, you may choose to study abroad for the two-week intercession, summer, fall semester, spring semester or the academic year.
