Kent State - VITA - Volunteers

Volunteers are needed for two Saturdays (March 15 and April 5) from 8am - 5pm. Volunteers are also needed for weekdays for appointments.

Kent State - VITA is one of only two sites in Portage County and serves anyone who is eligible for the free service no matter where they live, including the general public, students, and employees of Kent State.

The level of training and testing depends upon the role you choose.  All positions require completion of a volunteer code of conduct training and test but not all positions require certification as a tax preparer.  Greeters, computer specialists/trouble shooter, and marketing specialists (help find volunteers and taxpayers and work with social media) are also needed.

Training will be available in early November and certification is required before January 15, 2014.

Once you sign up to volunteer, the site coordinator will set up an appointment to get you started on the training and testing.

Please look at the three links below for more information on the VITA program, the roles and information on training and certifying via VITA central.
