CommonSpot Templates

The new Kent.edu look came through months of testing and refinement, including the composition of wireframe prototypes. Below are examples of the final product.

Home Page

Your home page's design is limited only by your imagination. With CommonSpot templates, you can construct any number of elaborate designs through custom style sheets and elements.

We also offer premade templates for you to cleanly and expressively present your department or school. Below are three example templates with the name, an example Web page using the design, a thumbnail preview and what icon you would select in your page's custom metadata to get that design's look on your Web page.

Faculty and Staff Profiles

We're very excited about a new feature in CommonSpot -- the ability for you to maintain your own biographical page. Your profile's maintenance requires minimal training and is accessed through a short, easy-to-remember url. Secretaries or other designees also can maintain these pages.

Profiles are stored in a database and can be pulled onto pages in many interesting ways, including random, rotating home page highlights of your department's professors or staff.

Many colleges, schools and departments use these profiles to tout their staffs' expertise and credentials. Contact webteam@kent.edu if you are interested in using profiles on your site.

Students expect to find information quickly and easily. You want to promote your school or college with an effective and direct message. That's why we created "info for" templates.

Brag about your program! Tell future students about your expert faculty, great resources and awesome events. Continue to engage your current students with up-to-date information.

Regional Campuses use a design similar to the Kent Campus's template, while departments, schools and colleges can use it or a simpler variation.
