University Facilities Management's building maintenance shops are an integral part of Facilities Planning and Operations. Our shops provide a wide range of services to Kent State University including routine and preventative maintenance, as well as modifications to existing structures.
The goal of Building Maintenance is to maintain an exceptional and safe environment for our students, staff, and faculty while supporting the mission of Kent State University.
Our service units are comprised of skilled trades and technicians working together to provide responsive, efficient, high quality services on a 24/7/365 basis. Utilizing the best industry practices, we work to create an atmosphere that stresses customer service, encourages advanced training and recognizes the outstanding efforts of our staff.
In order to serve you better, we provide 24/7 phone and service coverage to the University during evenings and weekends, and holidays. Our Service Center is responsible for receiving and dispatching emergency service and maintenance requests to the appropriate service team. In emergency situations our Service Center may provide certain information to campus security, or other emergency service departments.
Regular and After Hours Service
Building Maintenance service requests may be submitted by using FlashTrack, our self-service work order system. Staff and faculty should access the work order system through their FlashLine.
FlashTrack allows a requester to create, view, manage and edit requests on their work orders and contains a user-friendly billing section that details materials and labor charges for reconciliation and tracking. Please note that all Emergency Services may also be entered into our FlashTrack system, but should also be called into our 24 hour Service Center at 330-672-2345 for expedited service response.
