Student Financial Policy
Payment Terms:
Payment is expected at the time of service. UHS accepts cash, check, VISA/Mastercard/DISCOVER, and flashcard. All unpaid charges will be remitted to the student's bursar account.
Insured Students
Insured students are eligible students who have health insurance coverage and elect to use it for services rendered at UHS.
UHS is a primary care PPO provider for insurance carriers that contract with UHS. The list includes Aetna, Anthem BC/BS, CIGNA, Medical Mutual of Ohio, UnitedHealthcare and many others.
UHS will submit claims to all insurance companies, regardless of our network participation.
Office Visits
Office Visits refer to evaluation and management services provided to students in our General Medical and Women's clinics.
COPAYS, Coinsurance and Deductibles
UHS waives the copay, deductible and coinsurance for the office visit. Payment made by the insurance company for office visits is accepted as payment in full.
Laboratory Services
UHS provides onsite laboratory services for basic tests such as urine analysis, strep, mono and HIV. Payment made by the insurance company for laboratory services is accepted as payment in full. You may incur additional charges, not to exceed UHS' student self pay rate, if you have a deductible or if the insurance company does not cover the services billed.
UHS contracts with Robinson Memorial Hospital (RMH) as a reference lab for all tests that cannot be performed at UHS. RMH will bill your insurance directly and you may receive a statement from RMH for the patient responsibility portion of their laboratory charges.
Procedures, Services and Supplies
Procedures and Services include services rendered by UHS' radiology, physical therapy and psychological services.
Payment made by the insurance company for procedures, services and supplies is accepted as payment in full. You may incur additional charges, not to exceed UHS' student self pay rate, if you have a deductible or if the insurance company does not cover the services billed.
Self Pay Students
Self Pay students are students who do not have health insurance or who elect not to use their health insurance.
Office Visits
For eligible students, there is no fee for office visits provided to KSU students in our General Medical and Women's Health Clinics.
Laboratory Services
There are reduced fees for laboratory services provided by UHS.

Financial Waiver Policy
UHS will not turn away an eligible student because the student cannot pay for services.
