A three-step orientation program that includes Advising and Registration, Welcome Weekend and the First Year Experience course. The Advising and Registration portion is an overnight orientation for new first year students. Students will be given the opportunity to connect with other students, become familiar with campus, get their official Kent State Flashcard, meet with an academic advisor and register for fall classes. In addition, we welcome parents and guest to attend DKS to learn more about Kent State University including, financial aid, residence services, strategies to help their students make a smooth transition to college life.
Prominently located on the Lester A. Lefton Esplanade, Olson Hall is home to the College of Undergraduate Studies. The existing office and meeting space will be completely renovated beginning Spring 2014 and will include a new addition featuring an open common area for students and Wi-Fi bars. The building, which will be called the Center for Undergraduate Excellence, is scheduled to be completed in March 2015. During the renovation, the College of Undergraduate Studies offices have relocated to the fifth floor of the Kent State Library.
