In cooperation with the Kent State University Press, the Wick Poetry Center sponsors an annual poetry chapbook competition for Ohio writers, as well as the $2,500 Stan and Tom Wick Poetry Prize. The winning manuscripts are published by the Kent State University Press, and the winners give a public reading of their work on campus. The Wick Poetry Center awards more than $30,000 annually in tuition scholarships to Kent State. Four undergraduate students receive one-time awards each year and three to four entering freshmen receive scholarships renewable for up to four years.
