Join us in celebrating our 15th Year Anniversary!

$15 - $150- $1500 for Our 15-Year Anniversary Campaign

In November 2011, the Women's Center at Kent State University celebrated its 15^th anniversary!

In its first 15 years, the Women's Center

·         Established in 2003, the Women's Center Endowed Scholarship Fund and awarded sixteen scholarships to date.

·         Become a founding member and perennial host of the Take Back The Night, 10 Points of Light Campaign which works towards ending sexual violence.

·         Developed Mothers, Mentors and Muses, a scholarship fundraising event which honors excellence in the women of Kent State University. To date, over 90 women, faculty and staff have been honored.

·         Provides bi-annual mammograms for Kent State University women, serving approximately 150 each year.

·         Supports female faculty, staff and students who find they are dealing with issues of transition or crisis through counseling, referral and resources

Over the years, the Women's Center has been fortunate to receive critical operating support from a handful of dedicated and generous individuals. In honor of these committed benefactors and in celebration of our 15^th Anniversary, we are turning to the greater Kent State and northeastern Ohio community to ask you to join in supporting the Center and its important work.

How will your support help a Kent State student?

$15 provides six boxes of spaghetti and 3 jars of sauce for the Women's Center Pantry.  Our students use the pantry on an as-needed basis as they work their way through their undergraduate years.

A $15/month payroll deduction supports educational programming and advocacy focusing on the prevention of sexual assault and intimate partner violence for all community women.  One in four college women is a survivor of rape or attempted rape. 

The SART (Sexual Assault Response Team) at Kent State University is working to reduce this statistic.  

$150 provides one mathematics textbook for a student who can't afford all of her required books for the semester.

$1,500 provides support for three months of housing for a student who finds herself without safe and clean housing mid-semester, a circumstance that otherwise could disrupt her path to graduation.
