Multimedia Development

The Multimedia Development group works closely with the Educational Technology Designers to incorporate multimedia into your face-to-face and online courses. We also assist academic units with other needs pertaining to the promotion of learning and instruction.

The Multimedia Development group works exclusively in the digital realm; creating solutions using a multitude of scripting languages and wysisyg software applications. Examples of the services we provide include visual design, Web page development, interactive exercise development, educational database programming, and limited video production*.

In addition to working with you to develop specific course materials, we create applications that assist you in creating and delivering your own educational materials. Online tools like KSUtube ( ksutube.kent.edu) for delivering streaming video and the Multimedia Presenter ( mmp.kent.edu) to create Power Point type presentations with audio were both born out of meetings with faculty members at Kent State.

If you are already working with an Educational Technology Designer or other Educational Technology staff member, ask them to introduce us, or contact me directly, David Cunningham, dbcunnin@kent.edu.

* Video production must relate to an Educational Technology project. For large-scale, stand-alone or non-educational video production please contact Mark Warzinski in Teleproductions, 21875.
