Judith Roberts is senior writing associate and an instructor of journalism at Louisiana Tech. She began her tenure at Tech in July 2007 after serving nearly two years at The Ruston Daily Leader as staff writer and news editor. Her duties at Tech include writing and distributing press releases to media, handling the journalism alumni Web site, serving as adviser for The Tech Talk, and teaching various journalism courses.
In her field, Roberts has received several accolades, including placing first in copy editing and for a news release and earning second in feature writing and news reporting. She presented “Politics, Private Lives, and Personal Space: The Thin Line between Investigative Reporting and Sensationalism” at the 2008 Ohio Communication Association Conference and also served as student president of the Southeast Journalism Conference and as news editor and editor-in-chief of The Tech Talk.
Roberts received her master’s degree in mass communications from Grambling State University and her undergraduate degrees in journalism and English from Tech. She is active in Temple Baptist Church and Junior Auxiliary.
She married Kyle Roberts, an assistant sports information director at Tech, in 2005, and the two reside in Ruston.
