College policy provides that:
- Personnel files are to be maintained within the Department in a secure location
- Administrative files are to be locked
- The Chair or his/her designee must be present when a person is reviewing his/her personnel file
Faculty are encouraged to review their personnel files at least once a year, and they should initial new materials placed into their file. For description of materials to be placed in the personnel file, please see the section on tenure and promotion detailing files’ organization.
