Jaime Ballesteros, a master’s student in LMU’s School of Education, and 2012 graduate Yara Hidalgo were among the nine teachers honored by the White House on July 24 as “Champions of Change” for being strong role models and for their commitment to education.

Engineers’ Robot Best at Delivering Aid Packages

The team of students from the Frank R. Seaver College of Science and Engineering took top honors at a regional student design contest, where they were asked to build a robot capable of carrying food or other supplies across rough terrain.

Slice of LMU: 4th of July Parade

Now in its 16th year, the LAX Coastal Chamber of Commerce Fourth of July Parade brings the community together for a patriotic celebration along Loyola Blvd. Iggy and members of the LMU men’s and women’s basketball teams encouraged their Westchester neighbors to keep local beaches clean, keeping with the parade’s theme of “American Beach Party.”
