The Department aims to maintain an environment that promotes innovative thinking; values mutual respect and diversity; encourages and supports scholarship; instills ethical behavior; and stimulates life-long learning.
The vision of the Computer & Information Science Department is to become a recognized regional leader offering high-quality undergraduate programs in computing and information sciences to a large number of talented students at affordable tuition rates.

Professor Brian King received University at Albany's Distinguished Doctoral Dissertation Award for his research on semi-supervised learning for protein sequence classification.
Professor Brian King joins the CIS faculty. Congratulations to Brian and his wife on the birth of their son Dylan.
John Phillips presented a paper on the MU CPU design at the CCSCNE 2007 conference. The paper has been published in The Journal of Computing Sciences in Colleges.
