PDE INFORMATION

IMPORTANT PDE INFORMATION FOR ELEMENTARY EDUCATION AND SPECIAL EDUCATION MAJORS:

N-3 AND K-6 PROGRAM CLOSURES: Please be advised that Chapter

49 specifically prohibits PDE to certify candidates for the N-3 and K-6 certifications

beginning on September 1, 2013.

PDE will only issue the new Pre K-4, 4-8 and Special Education Pre K-8 and 7-12

certificates beginning on September 1, 2013 for candidates that have completed an

approved program.

All candidates in the N-3 and K-6 Programs must complete all certification

requirements by August 31, 2013, including testing and submitting an application to

PDE. PDE will issue certificates to candidates whose complete applications are

received by that date.
