New Master’s in Organizational Leadership Program A Success

The master’s in Organizational Leadership program which began in the Fall 2009 semester, has become one of the most successful programs on campus.

The 33-credit online program, approved by the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education Board of Governors in October 2008, was the subject of an intense marketing and recruitment program. "The response was overwhelming," said Admissions Director Brian Barden. "Our goal was 10 students. We opened the program with 38 students," he said.

"This is a flexible, rigorous degree in graduate leadership development," said MU President Maravene Loeschke. "It’s definitely a capstone in our continuing efforts to develop a seamless interface of leadership programs in and out of the classroom."

Loeschke noted that the first incoming class is four times greater than initial goals. "This really underscores the need for such a program in our 21st century society," she concluded.
