November 3 Presentation to Focus on Leadership & Ethics

An Evening with Dr. Randal Pinkett

Library Program Receives Federal Grant

MANSFIELD, PA (06/17/10) — Mansfield University has been awarded a grant of nearly $1 million from the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS).Under a project entitled “Fulfilling the Promise,” the MU School of Library and Information Technologies will partner with the Chicago Public School System and the New York City Department of Education, which have a combined enrollment of one point eight million students.

Steve Crawford '81 Named to Council of Trustees

MANSFIELD, PA (06/09/10) — Steve Crawford of Camp Hill, PA has been named to the Mansfield University Council of Trustees. Crawford, a 1981 Mansfield graduate, is Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell’s chief of staff. Prior to being named to his current position on May 2009, he had been the Governor's secretary of Legislative Affairs since the beginning of Rendell’s first term in 2003.

Steve McCloskey to be Honored by ECAC-SIDA

MANSFIELD, PA (05/03/10) — Steve McCloskey, director of Athletic Operations and Sports Information at Mansfield University, has been named the 2010 Bob Kenworthy Good Person Award winner by the Eastern College Athletic Conference-Sports Information Directors Association (ECAC-SIDA).

National Honor Society for Criminal Justice Majors Recognized

MANSFIELD, PA (12/11/09) — Mansfield University is the home of the newest undergraduate chapter of Alpha Phi Sigma, the National Honor Society for Criminal Justice majors.Seventeen students were inducted into Mansfield’s Lambda Zeta chapter at a ceremony held on December 3.

Monday Morning Mentoring Workshop Held

MANSFIELD, PA (9/16/09) - Mansfield's Human Resources Department sponsored a leadership workshop, September 16, 2009 conducted by internationally known leadership consultant and educator, David Cottrell.  The all day session, based on Cottrell's book Monday Morning Mentoring, was the culmination of several hour-long mini-workshops for campus managers that were held over the past month.

President Loeschke Featured in NCAA Magazine

MANSFIELD, PA (7/23/09) — Mansfield University President Maravene Loeschke is the subject of a story in the summer issue of NCAA Champion magazine. The story by Gary Brown is part of the “Faces of the NCAA” section and is entitled “This president keeps pep in step.” It focuses on how Loeschke came to play with the MU pep band, her support for athletics and her leadership philosophy.

Nursing Master's Administration Track Gains Approval

MANSFIELD, PA (7/17/2009) — The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) has approved the new administration track in the Mansfield University master’s of Nursing (MSN) program. "This program provides a strong foundation that is based on baccalaureate education,” Janeen Sheehe, chair of the Department of Health Sciences, said. “Completing the program will give nurse managers and administrators the skills they need to make decisions and support staff and patients in the ever-changing health care arena."
